Not really.
Most women who sleep around either lie about their past or keep it secret so the guy never knows.
The only woman who may struggle are the ones who have built up a reputation, but even then if they are hot enough lots of guys would overlook a woman's past if they get to be with an 8 or 9.
It's ruining relationships for everybody. People can't stay with each other for longer times anymore and grow together as people. Instead jump from tree to tree wondering why they are miserable
Natural selection, women with high value still get into relationships easy enough with good men. Women of lower value settle with lower value men.
It hasn't ruined anything it's all part and parcel of living in these times.
Yeah but the point is being promiscuous lowers their dating value in the eyes of those high value good men.
@Oram52 Any self respecting woman knows it already. If you hang around people who subscribe to the hookup culture then you're probably not a decent person yourself to begin with.
If the girl then goes and follows her peers that's on her. Instead of blaming the culture, girls who complain should look at themselves for enabling it.
Hookups and casual sex is a problem if you think this is going to replace real relationships. They are not a problem if you just enjoy them for their own sake. There is nothing wrong with women just wanting sex and nothing else from a guy. If you can't find guys around your age who want to do anything besides hook up, try to meet older guys. They will be more reasonable about things.
Some situations require date apps to meet but most people on date apps are crazy hook up people. Yes people that choose to live like pimps and hos are ruining it for the rest of us
I definitely think think it's gone too far, however as I 21 y/o guy who has never had a girlfriend or even had a kiss or any sexual experience, that is something that has negatively affected my self-esteem, because of the hookup culture !
If they don't lie about it, then yes, it most likely will ruin it for themselves. But it's their own fault. They make their own choices. I wouldn't want to be with a girl who has hooked up a lot either.
However, I'm already aware that if I was to be in a committed relationship with a girl in the future that there's a good chance she may lie about her past.
Yes it is. Some guys don't even put out an effort. They just meet u and expect u to sleep with them right away. no dates or getting to know each other better. Just a "come through" or "come over and chill" text. It's so annoying. Not all guys are like this though. Some guys are willing to take me out on dates and try to get to know me better.
I have had women friend zone me in the past by holding off on sex. I thought they would see me as more chivalrous but they actually saw it as less masculine "nice guy" behavior.
I still wanted to have sex of course... but I wanted to wait to make it mean something. Now I feel compelled to move quicker. It's just not for my own gratification but to avoid the ultimate disrespect (friend zone)
Do you actually want a relationship when you feel compelled to 'move quicker'? Because if you don't that is an asshole move dude. All to avoid the 'friend zone'? And who gets judged for 'hooking up'? Not you.
@Nyx_85 this has happened to me THREE times over the LONG HAUL. This wasn't a quick "lets be friends" after a few weeks of dating but dragged out after months (and one time 2 years) of courtship. There is absolutely nothing worse than this kind of outcome for a man.
This happened when I was younger and believe me I WANTED to have a relationship with all three of these women.
Now that I'm in my 30s I've wised up a bit. If a woman isn't interested she will be slow to respond to texts/messages, will have short texts/messages, won't give alternative ideas if she can't make a date. When I was younger I thought the girl was playing hard to get, but now I'm better at reading positive or negative signals (although I still occasionally screw up).
The thing with sex is women seem to have two thought process before and after. Before they are looking for faults, a legitimate reason to get rid of you, etc. This is usually done subconsciously. After sex they are trying to reason
to justify why they slept with you. I know what side of the equation I prefer to be on.
Two years is a long time ass for 'courtship'. Usually people know if they want a relationship within a few months.
@Nyx_85 well we had our kiss and few dates. She kept calling me and we hung out a lot. But I never pushed sex which was a huge mistake.

I'm a loser virgin, but i have nothing against women who sleep around. You know, they can and if they enjoy it and are having fun while being safe, there's nothing wrong with that. I guess personally i wouldn't judge a girl who hooked up a lot, i wish as a guy i could but i can't. I don't see why people shame girls as "sluts". If you want a girl who is "pure", great but it doesn't' mean guys who have fun are horrible people.

You have agency. You're not obligated to follow trends or whatever the pack is doing. You can have a relationship if you want one. You just have to say so.

To give context, one has agency over one's actions.
Yeah that's the verb usage. But it has to go with the noun usage which is what I referred to. For example "Jim exerted his right of agency, by negotiating the deal on behalf of his principal, to a successful close"

I don't know about ruining but I don't think its helpful for some women. I'm not sure I could ever be with a chick that hooked up a lot because we have such different views on sex and intimacy.
It's overall ruining relationships, not just for women.
I think girls have the possibility to do what they want. You can't see that a girl is sleaping around so guys don't stay away because they realy don't know if you don't tell it.
I think relationships were important in times Werke woman were not allowed to have own money or a job. In these times marriage isn't important because children don't getting judged for their parents are not married.
