There have been weeks at a time at work, or even months, when I was so busy I literally felt like I didn't have the time to go pee. Seriously. When you are have hard deadlines, and under pressure to do six months of work in two months, you don't have time for anything else. Things like eating, sleeping and even peeing are a nuisance.
It doesn't have to be that bad tough. When you have fifty things to do, any type of socializing takes low priority. Quite simply, when I'm really busy I don't want to be bothered about anything at all.
I also do NOT like to be contacted at work unless it's a real emergency.

If he persistently uses the excuse he's busy, then alarm bells would ring for me. It takes seconds to send a quick text. If it's only happened once or twice though I'd overlook it.

Don't believe in these poll results. I read your situation and this guy took days to get back.
If someone likes you they will find a way to get back to you. If had girls pull this shit on me the past and I kept trying to rationalize they were busy but the ugly truth is they weren't interested. They were blowing me off thinking I would get a "hint" because they were too cowardly to straight up tell me they weren't interested.
The only exception is if he purposely delaying responding to you so you will build up your interest in him. If that's the case it looks like its working.
I admit I've waited a while to get back to girls after a first date (usually 3-5 days). I did this on purpose to keep them wondering and to be a CHALLENGE. When I was younger I was too much of a eager beaver and I learned the hard what a huge turnoff to women.
However if he keeps on doing this shit after a 2nd or 3rd date then you have a problem.
I have been in meetings at work with potential donors who could lay down millions of dollars at a single pop. They are going to get 100% TOTAL attention. Any woman who can't handle that is still just a little girl, and I am into women, not little girls.
The answer is a big " NO". If a guy claims to be "too busy" then it's clear that he is not interested and is just making excuses to avoid you so that it comes off as less hurtful.
According to me it's a simple logic, it is not possible for someone to be 24X 7X 365 busy, not possible at all, anyone saying that or claiming that means they are lying.

Texting is the worst because it created false senses of non interest. I like to give my undivided attention so I text only when that is possible which isn't 24/7. Better to establish text for setting up dates. Talk in person only. Anticipation and time apart makes in being person sooooo much more meaningful.
I would just wait and see how he react in the future. If he keeps coming up with excuses over excuses than quit textIng him. I am in love with a guy who runs his own business and from time to time he doesn't text me for a few days but I understand that by now and don't freak out anymore. Honestly, I used to but I trust him now and know that he works hard and that it will benefit our future together. :)

Honestly people can't be very busy unless it's a matter of life and death. you texted that you like him but he excused that his phone screen was broken. its a good reason but check whether his phone was really broken or not. i do text someone i like even if I'm busy.. If not at least I'll say I'm busy right now..
Definitely. However, I think that if he really wanted to talk to you he would have found a way to do so. There’s no way he went from Saturday to Tuesday without talking to anyone.
I wouldn't count having a broken phone as "being that busy," few remember phone numbers anymore so if he couldn't use his phone is unlikely he could have got in touch. Exchange email address as well or something in case it happens again

Guys doesn't hang on their phones like if they would nurture a tamagochi. The girls on the other hand are usually on the phone 24/7. So yes, its definitely possible that the guy is simply busy.
Why not? I mean they have a life to live , friends and family to attend to and work to take care off to shoulder his responsibilities.
People can be too busy to check their phones. Not everyone lives and dies by their phone, hell sometimes I don't check mine for days..
Yes he can be that busy, I texted a guy wishing him happy New Year and it was 8 days later I heard from him. His work keeps him very busy.

He didn't say he was busy, he said his phone was broken. If on other occasions he took that long to text you back he's not interested period, it takes a few seconds to send a basic text.
