Two types of guys, which should you be?

I feel I've been burned on this in the past. What do you feel is the right way to approach the situation?

Left: Calm, not trying to spin it to your benefit, etc.

Right: Forward, try not to make it about yourself but say it how it is, encouraging

Neither, get a happy medium, ones “idc” the other side is clingy, be somewhere in the middle
