If your boyfriend does something sweet/says somehing sweet and "i love you" comes to mind does that mean you love him?

So there's been a few times where my boyfriend has done or said things that i thought was really sweet and sometimes the words "i love you" comes to mind or i wanna say it. I don't know if its just based on the moment. The reason why im asking is i think i love him but i wanna make sure before i tell him. I've never loved someone other than my family. He makes me really happy and i enjoy talking to him and our future etc.
