I added a guy on Facebook with who I had a few mutual friends. After he accepted my request, he sent me a message straight away and asked me what brought me to his page. We started chatting and the conversation got very intense very fast. I discovered we both had a few things in common, and we'd studied similar topics at University. He invited me to come and visit him where he lived. I ignored his messages because I found him to be very forward, and then a week later, he sent me a job suggestion where he works. I decided I wanted to try and apply for the job, so I asked him if he would look over my CV and help me with the application. He got back to me saying that we'd need to have a phone call to discuss it properly, so I arranged to speak with him over the phone. In the phone call, we discussed the job, but then he started talking about other matters, like him going to the gym, and going running and then he told me to get a running app so we'd be able to be connected on that.
After I applied for the job, we were talking the entire week, and then I found out that I didn't get through to the interview stage, he sent me a long paragraph telling me that it didn't matter and then asked me when I was going to come and visit him. I sent him a long reply, and he completely ignored me. The next day, he liked a load of my old selfies. He also told me that he was 'happy to accommodate and said that he'd show me around his area, and take me out for drinks and we'd visit all the nice parks too, and it sounded very appealing to me, and I got completely taken in by it all.
Then, about a week later, he just instantly cut off all communication and went from sending me messages on different platforms, and emails and liking and commenting on all my posts, to no contact whatsoever. He would then message me once a week with a new job suggestion, and said he'd put me in contact with another person for another job, but that was it.
Why is he playing mind games? What does he want?
