Why do I keep thinking I still like this girl even though I don't?

I stopped liking this girl almost two months ago but for some reason I keep thinking in the back of my mind that I still like her or will like her again in the future, even though I know I dont like her because for the past two months I've barely thought about her and didn't care that she got in a relationship with someone, it's like I'm trying to make something up to worry about and it's making me focus less in the girl I like now who I like way better than the other girl.

Hmmm interests of the heart are funny. I wanna say you are young and bla bla bla... but I won't, the truth is it happens at any age. Ask your self why is it that you think of her. Maybe just curiosity. Or a dream you may not remember. Ask yourself, do I like the way she talks, do I like the way she looks. The way she smiles or the way she smells. Do I like the way she treats others. Do I like how she treats me? Ask your self, can I see my self with her in 5 years. Can I see my self with her at all?

I mean it usually hits men later on, like a couple of months later. It hits us women straight away, so by the time it hits you guys we've already moved on so that makes your situation a little bit worse.

It could however also be loneliness. As humans, it's totally normal to feel lonely when you're single. So we start dwelling on past relationships and partners and start romanticising them.

Sometimes you can push someone to the back of your mind and not think of them but when they show back up, all bets are off. There is one man I fell in love with 13 years ago…he showed back up to tell me he was sorry for a relative passing away and all of the emotions came flooding back as if no time had passed-for both of us. First, we tend to remember things better than they were and you sometimes need time to get over someone even if you are not getting back together, is just settling and getting used to it mentally and emotionally but if you are sure I don’t think it’s bad. Also if you are seeing someone I heard that if you really liked the first one you wouldn’t have fallen for the second one

I guess that deep down you still like her. Maybe you don't want to admit it because you're interested in another girl now. Or you don't want to like her because she's part of your past.

Did she do something to make you dislike her rather than you slowly losing interest? If she did something thats probably why you still think about her. Eventually once you are happy with someone else you will stop thinking about her
