I don’t drink alcohol myself due to a few reasons. The main reason is that it is not good for you, rather, quite poisonous for your body. Another two reasons that tie into the first one is that it rarely tastes good or pleasing, and is that it is done due to societal pressure. Alcohol rarely by itself does not taste good on its own, so people usually mix it with things that do taste good to mask the actual taste of the alcoholic beverage to make it taste good. Also, most people drink because the social situation informally requires them to do so. There are a lot of things that humans have done and currently do to not stand out from the crowd. There are things called “social norms” that most of us follow because we humans are animals, social creatures, that follow the cues from greater society to keep us from being ostracized or isolated from this society. Understanding all of this, drinking alcohol isn’t something I usually partake in, so a woman who is like me in this sense is quite pleasant.

Why would that be a negative?

I'd rather be with someone who doesn't drink at all rather than someone who gets drunk and goes to bars all the time.

Someone who just occasionally drinks socially and maybe has one beer or one glass of wine from time to time is fine but drinking to excess and getting drunk. I don't want to be around someone like that. Movies making it cute and funny when people are drunk but the reality is most people are asses when they are drunk, they can be taken advantage of, they could get hurt or hurt someone they are more apt to do something inappropriate that cannot be taken back.

Not drinking at all... that is no problem.

I dont drink I haven't had alcohol since I was 16 17ish. Nor do I smoke. Husband drinks on occasion he says I make him feel uncomfortable and judged when he drinks around me when in reality I don't care nor do I say anything to him. I've had people comment to me about how I don't drink the best one was from an alcoholic cowboy friend when I told him I don't drink he was all like then what do you do? It's had me thinking that question eversince like I don't know maybe just live life?

I would and I DO already , in Asia particularly Buddhist Asia , but for the most part everywhere ( unless some bar girl , or questionable background ) it would be the norm that the female does not drink at all , the odd female of glass , may have one glass of wine , here there , but the norm is ABSOLUTE ZERO.
More than happy with this , its a massive positive and one of the things I love about Thailand , and many parts of Asia. Malaysia , nearly all non drinkers , China , mostly.
Philippines women rarely drink , Taiwan same.
Women drinking intoxicating beverages is mainly a Western thing , and not really a very good thing for longevity quite honestly.
I really enjoy the non drinking ideal , massive positive.

That'd be okay. Both sides of my family have long and nasty histories with alcoholism, so my parents were very conservative with it, and my siblings and I wound up the same way; I think I'm the most stingy; for me, "heavy drinking" is two beers a month.

It's definitely nice to be with someone who doesn't just constantly want to go get tanked every weekend.

I rarely drink myself. If I go out in general in the past I was usually the driver so I wouldn't drink anyway. As far as alcohol goes, there could be a multitude of reasons why someone doesn't drink. I'm not affected much mentally by alcohol, but I'm allergic to it - I turn scarlet and itch badly enough to need antihistamines to resolve it - so I'm happy to not drink and stick to fruit juice

I have no tolerance. Most of my friends (m/f) are not drinkers. All my SO don’t drink. one ex boyfriend was an exception, since he was an alcoholic, he asked what I do for fun... sight... hints... he is an ex. I don’t want my children to be raise in an alcoholic household.

My distant relatives are partly Russian, and among close friends, there is a tradition, that I heard of, opening a bottle of Stoli, or some other, great vodka. When close, and trusting, you open the bottle, and throw the cap away, as a symbol of trust, being willing to be totally drunk, with the other.
I have a hard time trusting anyone that rejects that, or doesn't drink.

It's doesn't bother me at all if a woman doesn't drink alcohol, as long as she doesn't mind if I do.
I don't drink much myself. I don't care much for beer. I do appreciate a good red wine from time to time. And on occasion, I'll have a mixed drink - Mai tai, pina colada, Margaria, or something like that. But that doesn't mean that my date has to partake. She can drink whatever she wants.

I don't mind at all that she doesn't drink, but I am concerned about how it would affect her if I drink in front of her as often as I do now. Yes I would. Here's why..

Its been 2years sober, I'd like that to go on, a girl who won't drink would help me maintain it that way, she'll be healthier, and I won't have to be her baby sitter when we go clubbing or anywhere else, cost effective and pocket friendly.

There's literally a thousand other ways to get high or get a buzz without consumption of alcohol..

I’m a bit of a old fashioned millennial so the last alcohol I drank was communion wine. On the first Sunday of the month with the alcohol boiled out of it less than a 1/4 of an oz.

It's long been my rule not to date a woman that doesn't drink beer. Why beer? Beer-drinkers are just more fun and unpretentious. Non-drinkers are generally up-tight and lacking in spontaneity. White wine drinkers tend to be whiney and pretentious. Red wine drinkers are passionate, as are tequila shooters. Bourbon drinkers are more thoughtful, intellegent, and sophisticated. Just my experience. I'm sure there are exeptions out there.
