For starting a long distance relationship (1.5 hours apart) is taking turns visiting eachother every weekend a must? When should we move closer?

-I went to my hometown for a weekend a while back and an into my 10th grade lab partner. She and I talked and caught up at the pub everyone goes to in that small town. We ended exchanging compliments/contacts and made a promise to meet up again.
-We did the next 3 times I came home. Nothing serious until she decided to stay this whole weekend with me where she met my pets and saw my apartment. I am paying a coworker to watch my pets and visiting her next weekend to meet her roommate and pets.
- Im not sure how sustainable it is to keep this up when we both have responsibilities in our homes. I want to make it work and just push through but she needs to ditch her roommate/move closer or I need to move closer to my hometown. I hate to think this constant sacrifice can just end up an expensive fling or ask if we should plan too relocate to soon and scare her away.

I don't see the big deal about driving 1½ hours o see a lady. My metropolitan area is huge and I can spend an hour driving to the home of a lady who lives in the same town. If you are unwilling to make that commitment, maybe you aren't ready for a relationship.

If it really is the person you want, weekends should do it, but I'd look to move together quickly, 4-6 weeks, or at least to take holidays in turn so you can live together and see whether it fits.
I would not again sacrifice a relationship for career.

How long has this been going on?

So after the weekend I first met her again we went on 6 dates the last 6 weeke. We went on a date every day I have been in town. She met my parents 3 times cause I invited her to 3 family dinners.

I also met her family when she invited me to her parents labor day picnic. We have been moving pretty quick.

So it’s been about 2 months? I think it’s a bit soon to ask about one of you uprooting to accommodate the relationship. Trust me I get where your head is at, I was once in a long distance relationship and ultimately decided it wasn’t for me because it was too hard missing them all the time. But in your case, just be a bit patient, and once you’re more serious, then talk about moving closer to one another..
