I've been talking to a guy online for 4 months now. But he's become very distant the last month & im not sure if I should belive his reasons?

He confessed he has feelings for me but I dont want an online/ long distance relationship. So as feelings were growing & intensifying we agreed to just keep things light & have fun. he accepted. Eventually we started talking less but still texted everyday & have our little fun.. it was a healthy change tbh. Allnof a sudden the last 3 weeks he's become very distant. He's goes days without texting me or very little & when I asked him he says he's busy with work & he's sleeping earlier ( we have a 6 hour time difference). Obviously I was cool about it & teased him saying he found a a little girlfriend & said no that he cares about me & he thinks about me all the time even if he doesn't text. Well most recently he disappeared for a week...& then texted me saying he got a bad cold & that he's still recovering. He said that he thought of me everyday & that he felt bad for leaving me suddenly & wanted to catch up, etc. A few days passed then he disappeared again... & now its been 3 days. I text him something funny/check up on him 1-2x every other day because I do care for him too & I do believe him but I want to make sure im not blindly believing him.. because it feels like the last 3 weeks has been building up to this.

That's odd because I can relate to the individual and the timeline you mentioned a lot.
In my case i just have a lot on my plate and long distance relationships just add some more to it. Plus, I didn't envision a bright future with that girl, so wasting both of our time wasn't worth it.

Right. That's a good point you make, but I also just don't understand why he tells me he misses me & thinks about me... & cares, etc. etc. when he's the one who is acting distant.

sudden rush of feelings when someone's lonely i guess. But getting distant coz he might be regretting something?

Update: it's almost been 2 weeks since he cane online. I was looking though old msgs recently & realized he had mentioned a cold he felt coming on the last few weeks... & now im worried it might be something really bad that happened... because colds don't last more than a week, 2 max. So I don't know... I msged him & basically said that it didn't seem like he's OK.. or maybe he decided to leave me forever but I hoped that if he came back online he'd atkeast lmk that he's OK & then I'd move on , no biggie. Ik I shouldn't have sent it but... I just miss him. Talking to him has become such a part of my life without realizing it. & I hate this so much

Maybe you should call him since that's worrying you, it might give him some moral support as well if he's really sick and you too can be clear about why he was offline.
