I've only had 2 dates with this man in real life whom I met on a dating app. After that, I went back to my country. We've been talking to each other online for around 6 months, and it's been 4 months after our dates. And finally I'm planning to come back next month, which means he would have waited for me for 5 months without dating anyone else.
Today he got drunk and called me, and said he miss me. He said he's been waiting for me because he thinks I might be 'the one'. I think this man is more faithful than many other guys.
So I'm curious, as a guy, would you do the same? Like not dating other girls for 5 months and waiting for a girl you've only had 2 dates to come back to your country?
What Guys Said
If I dated in the Western way, I don't think I would. Respect to guys who would and could.
I emphasize Western way since in Japan, the tradition is to date our friends. Like with my wife, we were close friends for almost a year before we started dating and already kissed and danced before we went out on a date as well as having thousands of deep conversations together.
So I would have waited for her for sure even after just two dates but because we spent so much time together and grew so close before we started dating.
I went with, "No, even if I really like her," assuming Western way of dating. That said, I wouldn't really like her after just two dates if that was all there was between us. I would need a lot more time spent together to like her so much.
I fall in love very slowly that way; opposite of the type to fall in love at first sight. I fall in love through hundreds or thousands of deep, soul-sharing experiences and conversations together.
