What would you think if your boyfriend/girlfriend called someone else ugly?

We are fresh just started dating. Few days ago we were talking about profiles of people on tinder, and he showed me his. He was swiping through profiles and when he got one girl (not that ugly in my opinion, just bad posing and choosing of photos) he said jokingly "omg wtf is this ugly shit". I didn't say anything but it's stuck in my head. Red flag?

He said it in front of you. Could there have been an element of humor there just because of what he was doing at the time? He could have liked her and used that as cover. It’s a little odd to run a search in front of a new girlfriend to me anyway.

I think it’s his personal preference and maybe he’s saying that because he is comparing you to her… Saying that she is ugly compared to you.

More like they have some standards to me it would be a plus as it means you obviously meet what they are looking for.
