Is it normal for my friends with benefits to want to meet my parents, and want me to meet his parents?

We have been friends with benefits for about 9 months, and it's been extremely rocky. Before I met him he broke up with his girlfriend, hooked up with his ex-best friend, and his ex-best friend's wife, dated a girl for two weeks and they ended things. Which could have been due to the situation with the best friend. I didn't realize everything that was happening until much later, but he told me the situation was over and had been for after some time before I came into the picture, but the situation with the best friend was far from over, and it has caused us to get into fights. When I decided to protect my peace and energy from the situation. We had a talk; he told me he would never date nor be in a relationship with me. I understood and decided it was best to move on, but he wanted to remain friends.

Either way, I didn't care if we were friends or not and decided it is what it is. Fast forward we go to the bar one night, and I was having the time of my life. I met this really handsome guy and we vibed the whole night. Which caused my friends with benefits to blow up on me. (There's so much that has honestly happened but there are not enough words that can fit.)

Lately, he has been wanting to meet my mother; which I am against. He wants to watch her favorite movie and have dinner. I have told him I don't want to, and he's not going to meet my mother ever.

Also, my friend graduates Uni in June which is in Cali and his sister lives in Utah; his mother lives in vegas. He wants to spend a day and Cali and then take me to meet his sister then drive to meet his mother.

I told him I don't want to, and I don't feel I need to meet them. We fight often, but for some reason, we can't seem to stay away from each other. We have tried giving each other space but it doesn't last very long. On top of everything he's on dating apps and keeps telling me he wants to find a girlfriend.

I know this is a lot and very messy but I don't feel our friendship is anything but normal.

Does wanting to know who I am texting; wanting to meet my friends and family, travel together normal for a friends with benefits?

This is just a guy who think he HAS TO have a girl next to him, for some image, or some other reason (s). Maybe he doesn't like to think of himself as 'loner' or single. He doesn't want to be left without female attention, or he will feel rejected, which he doesn't like. If he indeed has a lot of friends, then he is having girlfriends, for the sake of it! Because he doesn't want anyone to point a finger on him, that he broke up and was left alone - that he failed. He is also intrusive and thinks if he is involved in more serious relationship, he will feel... calmer.
You know, you could have a fuck buddy, without all these problems, right?

I never had a fuck buddy before, and honestly, I don't feel I will have another one after him. Sometimes we go long periods without having sex but we are still close.

I don't think that is normal. Friends with benefits type of relationship is about one thing. It typically doesn't involve other normal dating activities like movies, dinners, trips, and certainly not meeting family.

It sounds like you have made it abundantly clear you are not interested and he keeps pressing. Just put your foot down and give an ultimatum that he either stop asking or this is just not going to work for you.

When I do put my foot down he starts wooing me, but then he will change and become mean to me if I don't agree or do what he says. I think we do need some kind of talk I just don't know how to start it without causing a fight

That means he is just using you. When you say no, he changes to try to change your mind. I think you have two options. You can talk and explain that this just isn't going to happen or you can tell him enough and you are done.

I guess it depends on whether you want to let go of the friendship or not. Is it really worth all the hassle just for sex?

It isn't! When we aren't fighting we have an amazing time together, for the most part, I am always in a place of peace which causes him to be at peace as well. We can go weeks without sex, and just do things together. I just noticed this shift when he started to mention meeting my family and more of my friends. He started buying me expensive jewelry, calling me pet names, and showing affection towards me. I just listen and pay attention to everything he has told me. I don't believe he likes me and wants anything from me in that way. He told me, and I believe him.

I never thought he would want to meet my family. It didn't cross my mind until he started stating that's what he wants. When he talks about us; it's always in the future, and he's told me I a make him happy.

This is my first, and truly my last friends with benefits relationship. I thought it was supposed to be simple, but I am starting to notice it has caused me nothing but drama and uncertainty. I have a lot of my things at his place, and it honestly feels like I have moved in. Last November I stayed at his place the whole month, and we tends to spend everyday together.

Because I was with him so often he suggested and allowed me to bring things over; so I wouldn't have to drive and go back and forth from my house to his. When I tired moving or taking my things out of his place he became stressed out
