Why is it that a woman that says she likes short guys, but then has a tall boyfriend?

I know this woman, who once told me she is into short guys. But then she has a tall boyfriend. Why would she have a tall boyfriend if she said she was into short guys? But what is the likelihood that a woman that says she isn't into short guys, actually ends up with one?

Tbh, all the guys I dated was tall, is that my preference? No.
I really do like short guys, but guess what? Short guys doesn't want to be with me because I'm short. I know everyone doesn't think the same, so I just didn't care If the guy was tall, so I went by common interest and I was okay with it.
I even had a crush on a guy that was shorter than me but sadly he was married and his wife was taller than him and me, she wasn't super tall but then again I'm really short lol. But still I always have a hard time finding a guy that's short and I always get tall guys.

Girls can have a preference and settle for someone who isn't exactly their preference because they fulfill her in different ways. She will make the exception because other traits make up for it.
