Do many people fall in love just to get that high feeling?

I haven't had a hard crush that makes me wake up excited to see them in like 6 months to a year, heck maybe more because it took a while for it to slowly fade. It was a guy at work. He's no longer with us and I haven't heard from him since last year. Safe to say I am not getting any high feelings waking up and getting ready for my ho-hum everyday average job anymore. I remember about 2 years ago when I first started to know him and he was giving me so much attention and even though I mentally knew that it wasn't a promise of marriage and even when I knew I would not be with him, that high feeling has a mind of its own.
Now waking up everyday for work is just becoming more and more basic drab lame and boring. I thought my life was boring before. But it wasn't because I had that high feeling. That made all the difference.
I can see now why women like Kim K or JLo let themselves dall in love constantly with one man after another, and why ordinary women do the same... No matter how stupid the choice is to go with a guy just cause he makes you feel like that. I guess life without that love high feeling is... Hmm
