Why did no one ask one of the hottest girls in our year to prom?

I’m friends with her and see all the other guys checkin her out in class and try to be near her but she’s really shy and told me how embarrassed she was that no one has asked her. I feel bad but I have a girlfriend and invited her to come with our friends but she said she might just not go since everyone has a date. I’m just shocked no one asked her to prom.
