I keep getting played!! What to look for in a guy when they started off incredibly sweet in respectful but started playing games and being rude?

This is the 3rd guy in a row I’ve gotten played by am I dumb for not realizing the red flags and what should I look for next time?

Guy 1 and I were really close for years until he became cold and went I’d of his way to hurt and ignore me

Guy 2: reached out first, was incredibly sweet but had a girlfriends boyfriend lied to me about it before saying he never was interested in me anyway

Guy 3 (current I’m trying to break off with): reached out first, complimented me to no end, planned out dates, tried to impress me, told me about is family life and suddenly pulled back when I liked him back (ignoring me, saying he’s flirting with other girls, barely texting, sly rude comments)

by the way I’ve never had a boyfriend (these are guys I’ve liked that I’ve been in talking stages with and have flirted with or or shown interest in dating me) I just put this in the dating section because I assume I’ll get the most responses that’s way.

I'm sorry for your experiences, it really sucks to be hurt by someone. Some advice I'd give is that people who are narcissists and bad partners usually try love bomb you with compliments and big gestures before hurting you and showing their true colours. It is a better sign if a guy shows interest but is not too intense at first, it shows he is more genuine rather than trying to play the field.

I don't know how you approach guys, but maybe wait for them to do the initiating in saying they like you or want to date you, just so that you prevent someone knowing you're really into them and abusing that.

Maybe it’s the type of guys you are going after. Maybe you should look at the similarities between them.

All I can say is that they all start off super sweet and respectful but I can’t just block off dating any guy who’s sweet and respectful when I meet him

You need to look at their personalities. I’m sure you’re a nice cool girl. But sometimes the type of people we date have similar characteristics. Once you find that, and then analyze why you’re attracted to that feature, you can fix the problem.

It’s like as soon as I started reciprocating the flirting and all he began making for rude remarks and then talking about other girls but whenever I start pulling back he’ll start flirting again.
