Why do guys ghost when they find out a girl likes them?

So I added my crush on social media and I was happy he added me back and seemed interested at first then like I showed him I liked him. made that obvious. and he now has ghosted pretty much. why do guys ghost whenever they find out you like them? it happened to me before too?

If you acted clingy, needy or desperate then that's normal!, anyone would do that. Because if a real man likes a girl, he would never ghost her.
