Just to update you all - after using all your advice - he told me that he is afraid of commitment and doesn’t want to hurt me. So is letting me know he isn’t after anything serious :/ is that even legit?

If he asks a yes or no question about you include an explanation if it makes sense. Basically offer a little extra detail in answer to any question he asks, to give him something to respond to to keep the conversation going.

Respond with related questions. If he mentions a hobby or interest ask about it, including followups.
