I recently started chatting and flirting over text with a guy who used to hit on me in class. We FaceTime almost every night and he texts me whenever he can (which can take hours sometimes but he says its because he’s barely on his phone when he’s out). We have been chatting over text for a week now and we kind of know that we like each other. He has called me bae before and he initiates texts (he always initiates conversations by asking what I’m doing). We haven’t seen each other during this week of us talking over text and today was the first time I’ll see him since we’ve been flirting. I asked him if he wanted any food because I was going to stop and get myself some, and he said he felt bad about me spending on him, and I said it was fine. He was hesitant but he gave in after I reassured him that it was okay and when I saw him in person he just seemed awkward. He seemed like he didn't care to see me because he didn’t smile or anything and I dont know if it was because his friend was around but it seemed off. He was polite and said thank you but I’m wondering if I made things weird by buying him food or he was just nervous. He started texting me a lot more than usual after school and I’m wondering if they are guilt driven texts because he feels like he owes me or because he genuinely likes me? What do you guys think?
from my experience... he is new to dating and flirting maybe... you are his first successful texting opposite gender in same age...
he has some fear that his friends get know and make him fun.. because you two have feelings or crush like that...
if you wish get know his female siblings or mother...

Food is ok, but he was embarrassed now he feels awkward. You should let him take you out his treat that will make things better.
I don't see the point in doing that.
