I think it's because of their (the white women he tried to pick up) rather abrupt rejections to which he was not used to that he took it personally rather than him just being unable to pick them up, and he just simply is so much more at ease when talking to black women and prefers them so much more that he himself is now prejudiced against white women, which is quite a 180.
