What would a guy think if the woman did not want to go further after a long make-out?

We have an on-and-off long history with that man and I have some trust issues. After months we met this weekend and spent some time outside, then we went to this place to watch a movie, etc. (Also, there is no relationship between us officially besides being people who know each other from the past.) After some time we started to make out, he wanted to go further but I stopped him. We slept in different beds and so on. He texted me that he had already missed me but I texted back a bit cold. Anyways, early in the morning while taking me to the train station, he was a bit close to me. I really did not get the reason. Do you think my behaviors pissed him off?
