If they think they are unattractive, they're thinking about looks. Confidence (or lack thereof) will also change things. Also, the other party has to believe looks don't matter as well. And, often, it's the only thing one has to go on as a very first impression. I guess looks don't matter in love, but they do in meeting people?

Of course looks do matter. Looks is oftentimes what makes someone interested in getting to know you. Once you get to know and like someone looks matter less, but are never unimportant.

Fun fact: I did in my 20s. Absolutely NO luck! I mean I put a real life, candid picture of myself up on dating sites, and everything. I even messaged guys first!

No replies back, or the cliche, "thanks but no thanks" type of responses back. So... yeah, lol. Lesson learned the hard way. Contrary to what most guys think, not all females have luck on dating sites. And that was my 20s- if I wasn't having any luck then, imagine now in my 30s! LOL
