Most people would describe me as very introverted and shy. I am not a flirtatious person and I dress modestly. A few men (college acquaintances, coworkers etc.) have expressed their interest in a fling but take no interest in getting to know me as a person. Some of them even dislike me and act rude while being nice and welcoming to everyone else.

I know these men have crushes on other women they want to have relationships with. What do these women have that I don't? Am I just not pretty or intelligent enough to be considered girlfriend material? I know I'm not acting needy because I was never expressed any romantic interest in these men. What do you think?

The way I see people... it's energy, what we are projecting emotionally influences how others respond. "If you look like a sheep, then a wolf is going to be interested... in eating you".

So you draw the wrong energy. If you look like a victim, then others treat you like that. Think about the women who are prostituties... they don'twant that job and likely were beaten or abused into it, but they feel that is whom they are or have no choice. Do you wear revealing clothes or something? You maybe looking like a person who'd let anyone as long as they can impress you so men get into a competition, this also depends where you hangout.

People could be thinking you are so hot that you definetly have a boyfriend or something, it's not easy to know if a guy wants a long term relationship. Easiest way would be to ask them althou never forget some guys will always lie in order to get a night with you.

A guy who'd want a long relation ship will most likely want to know more about you before he can decide to settle or not, perhaps some of your friends or past friends have tried to play the long game but they never got the chance or they were shy to take action etc.

Worst case you gave them wrong assumptions, if you seem like loose person that doesn't care, as an example: Girls who wear revealing clothes.

Then some people that want long term might not even approach you.

I'd say that you are introverted doesn't help. Men are relatively simple. If they don't see that you would open up to them they won't consider you as "girlfriend material". But if they think you are hot they still would fuck you. It's kind of like a trade off. If they don't think you'll date then they would at least fuck you

One problem I've noticed that a lot of shy girls have with men is that the women don't feel comfortable opening, so guys never get a chance to bond with anything but her physical appearance.
