How common is it for people to date and end up with their exact type / dream partner (including physical looks)?

I always hear people in dating telling people to lower their standards. Yet, In a world full of 7 billion people it’s definitely possible to find someone who matches your ideal type looks and all even though it’s most likely very challenging.

How common do you think is it for people to successfully find and secure their “ideal person” as a partner?

Mathematically and statistically speaking, absolutely every person on earth has 1 in a billion chance to find their Perfect partner. In 2022 there are 8 billion people, meaning there are 8 Perfect husbands or wives for every person. BUT the odds of finding them are EXTREMELY slim.

Seems skewed considering so many people are almost have very similar attributes. Unless their ideal list is like 200 attributes long. But like for example you said “I want someone with this eye color, this height, this amount of money, this taste in music, and these 3 hobbies) I don’t think that would be like too statistically crazy.

Well yes, if you really going extreme by having an unrealistic wishes and desires of course you would never be able to find that type of person, even if there would be a quadrillion people.

My point was that I thought your original 1 in a billion estimate was off. I could make a list of like random 7 fairly specific attributes right now walk around for a day and meet like 2-3 people meeting those exact traits or features.

Your last comment told me a lot about you. You live in a reality, aware of reality and therefore seems like you have a realistic expectations. Whoever you are, You will be just fine. Have patience and you will find a man of your true liking.

Thank you for the compliments! I’m actually happily engaged (to my “man of my dreams) haha. I was just thinking on this question because I was talking with my girls earlier and said that you can quite literally find any guy you want if you search hard enough, we had a little debate about it so I was wondering what everyone else’s thoughts were about it.

As you mentioned above, it all depends on how long is a wish list and how realistic it actually is. For both men and women who are living in a fantasy world, they would never be able to find a husband or a wife of their dreams, but for normal people who are grounded in a reality, it is not just possible, but Very doable.

I think this all hinges on the pickiness of the person. And it's important to remember that people are not constants, people change. For example most girls have a very specific, very limited view of what's attractive when they're young. As they age, go to college, become women they realize the best guy isn't always, or even half the time, the hottest guy. But some women also NEVER grow out of this. Does this make them wrong? Well I wouldn't say it makes them wrong. But she's set herself up for disappointment as most guys cannot live up to her expectations.

I wouldn't worry about the commonality of it. I'd focus more on what people are willing to show, to give. I get most people aren't forthcoming most the time. But if you pay attention you see the red flags that betray thier lies.
