It’s not as personal as meeting someone in real life. Judgement of others thinking that you’re desperate, you’re not putting in enough real work to finding someone who’s a match for you, or you’re only looking for one night stands, etc. Dating apps can really bring out the worst in people. Not to mention so many fake profiles and women getting unsolicited dick pics. It really does ruin it for those who are looking for a genuine healthy relationship. Now days it’s become a more normal due to the pandemic and the more smart way of doing it.
Dating apps are the easiest game in town they are also a shit show. Match got caught sending men fake likes and shit so they would upgrade to talk to these fake profiles. So not really good on their part especially when it's hard for men already.
Dating sites are for lazy people who don’t want to risk with real-life people because they fear rejection. I am not on an app, Facebook etc, and got a developing 6 month girlfriend. So yeah, it's true dating sites are for people that struggle meeting singles in real life... I say struggle meeting, not getting girl freinds. I have meet lots of women on dating sites, but I got three girlfriends in real life that I found on the internet.
I think the problem is that many people and I´ve been surely one of them either lack patience or the ability to recognise that they have work to do to get in a relationship. The problem is that many people think of dating apps as a short-cut that guarantees them a higher chance of a relationship while hoping that it would mean less or no work on their part. Because dating apps don´t give people easy accessible dating chances with the right kind partner. Many don´t take much interest in them so they either have no good dating profile or they write sentences in their bio that they are no active users and are better contacted at other places. That way they show their potential partner that they are absent most of the time which could be interpreted as a lack of interest in dating on their side from the start. Another problem that many people use dating apps just to talk about sex or some fantasies so that people who want a relationship have a harder finding each other. A last problem is ratio of men and women isn´t equal on those apps, since guys are seen as the potential payers to keep the business running so their number is always the female contacts. So even if a potential value man tries to get in a contact with a woman he needs to find a way to make it clear to her through all the likes she gets. If he can´t his opportunities are crushed because of this perspective many guys give up from the start because they think they won´t get a woman anyways and don´t bother right away.
Sometimes, I think for your own personal growth, you are meant to be single.
Dating apps just compound that feeling of loneliness, and a bit like social media, can really adversely affect your self esteem.
Most of those apps have also changed so they can coin it in with paid services.
I use to get a fair few matches on tinder before they removed the super like function or added a pay wall to it. After that I would seldom get matches, despite being a pretty good looking guy. You're just like guy 550 in a girl's stack.
I also think those types of sites are a bit like social media in that they favour a certain type of social person who likes to market themselves. I have lots of interesting hobbies, a half decent job, I also study, and I do go out. But I just don't go out taking lots of pictures cause well, I'm not like that. My pictures ain't good and that counts a lot in terms of matches.
Those sites are also heavily biased towards women, so that it turns out that an above average attractive man is vying for an average girl. I believe men outnumber women 2 to 1.
Of course, I deleted them all a while ago and prefer to meet in real life.
For me it's the lack of effort guys are putting into their profiles. I decided to try Eharmoney because I heard it was good and free (very misleading). The multiple downsides of that app besides, ninety percent of all the profiles shown to me didn't have pictures. About eighty percent didn't have anything written down about themselves. Loads of them wrote down random key smashes instead of answers to profile questions, or just "wanna smasj." Or irrelevant things. You don't need to write like a professional novelist, but basic punctuation, spelling, and capitalization can go a long way in showing you're actually invested in finding someone to date.
On there? Sadly yes. There's been about five altogether that have completed profiles, and two out of those that didn't write everything in lowercase with zero punctuation.
Dating is a numbers game. Saying “you only need one match” is literally saying you have a one in eight billion chance. That’s 1:8,000,000,000. Let’s put that into perspective. You have a 1:176,000,000 chance of winning the mega millions lottery. Your odds of being directly struck by lightning are 1:1,000,000. So, without having more than one match, the odds of finding “the one” are practically unfathomable. Also, the majority of people using dating apps are pretty deplorable for a variety of reasons.

The thing is that those guys don’t want just 1 match/girl. They wanna sleep around and be a man hoe. The girls gotta be hot to. They want her to be hot, good body, young but mature and drama free no matter how much of an asshole liar and cheater he is, no kids, virgin but a slut in bed and ready to have sex with HIM on like the first date, a good loyal girl, traditional and conservative and not a feminist but at the same time work and pay 50-50 and NOT want to get married or have kids, at least not in the next 10 years, and so on and on. Then they go on the internet forums and whine over how women have unrealistic standards (aka she’s not interested in him).
Majority of them are exactly as Anonymous posted. My cousin made a Match profile for the heck of it. She happens to be a professional model.
The number of men with NOTHING to them (no depth, lame characters, not good personalities, divorced or never married with kids), etc. that contacted her was appalling. Particularly when it was obvious very few of them were interested in an actual relationship and simply after a potential hookup / cheap sex.
I mean she tore into one guy - called him shallow - and loser STILL wanted to take her to dinner.
And the funny thing is, is none of her photos were revealing, proactive or anything of the like and she STILL had continual no-depth, little-value douchebags interested in cheap sex bothering her.
Women only hate dating apps because women CAN'T hide or LIE about why they're there. This is why you'll see women frequently put on thier bios things like "just seeing what's out there". Because they want to make it clear to you that this is just an experiment of sorts, she doesn't need a dating app. Women like having the power to flirt with a guy and still reject him and say. "What are you talking about"? "I'm not trying to date abyone". In real life she can do that. She can't do that on a dating app. As I said she can't hide why she's there. This is why most women on dating apps have chips on thier shoulder. Most find it beneath them. 😆😆😆 Hell, listen to half the women on G@G when the subject of online dating comes up. Most will tell you enphatically "i would never use an online dating app"! And you KNOW most have. 😆😆😆
They're just a waste of time. You spend all this time swiping and trying to start conversations, only to get ghosted without explanation.
Women don't have as much time and effort invested into dating. That's just the reality of the situation. Why put in effort for people who can't be bothered to put effort into me?

You're right, we only need one match. Unfortunately I didn't even get that. Had both tinder and bumble for months with not a single match. Worst part is that bumble has this thing where if you swipe left on someone who swiped right on you, it shows that as a missed match. I never even saw that. So i assume basically no one swiped right one me. So it's rather hard for me to like dating apps when the message they gave me was that depressing.
I think younger people hate it because they don't have anything to compare it against. Dating apps are way easier and offer way more options then having to pull a girl from the club or the mall which used to be your only options back in the day
Yeah well when you send 50 messages and get 0 responses, it can be discouraging. Of course the trouble is on a lot of sites you have to be a paid member to respond to a message, so you are unknowingly writing to someone who may have created a profile a year or more ago, hasn't checked their profile since then, and couldn't respond anyway as they're not a paid member.
Women don't hate em... they LOVE em... because it's where they get paid to "go live" and "sell content." They're not on there looking for a mate... GUYS ARE. That's why any halfway decent guy hates them, because the women aren't on there looking for that guy. They're looking for the 60 yr old guys who pay to see young females naked. I know females in PRISON who've even, and I'll quote "We love those kinds of guys in here. They're the ones who load up our accounts." Meaning the 60 yr old guys.
People on dating app don't stop looking in real life. We just don't have that much time or that much of a social life to believe we can succeed. I did in real life while being on a dating app. So I know that we don't give up in person chances and rely 100% on the apps.
I extremely rarely got matches or replies. So for me it was mostly wasted time. In my whole life if using dating apps , I've meet like 3 . Now much harder to ever meet anyone. Women get bombarded with options. So they will not see your message, or not care.
From what I gather it’s the bot accounts that make it appear to have more “wanted” members. The excess billing to keep people enrolled in what is basically a scam.
As a guy I hate it because it I know how useless they are but looking at the bright side at least they all woke me up and thought me how superficial and narcissistic women are and what they really go for in the dating world
They have always felt to me to be designed to keep a man hanging so he keeps paying for the service. The ratio of men to women is ridiculous and a guy pretty much has to accept anyone and everyone to get any matches.
