Could this potentially be a date?

So awhile back I started talking to this girl through social media as we have mutual events in common, we live not too far apart from each other.

We were looking forward to meeting each other at an event that will be in a few months.

I made a suggestion that if she ever visited where I lived just before the event she could get intouch with me and we can go for a coffee and chat and talk about the things we got in common.

She actually jumped at the chance and said I should visit where she lived too.

Either it's a date or not I'm not fussed, she is a lovely girl. Only weird thing is though she's 10 years younger than me, she's in her mid 20's and I'm in my mid 30's.

I know they say age is just a number but if it is a date, is it weird to date someone 10 years younger than me and does it sound like a date.

Maybe not an official date but is it like a date type setting?

I would say it’s a date like setting maybe. See how it goes and maybe if it goes well ask for a more official date.

Because I mean men and women simply going out and doing something as friends isn’t a date. It has to be known to both people it’s a date
