Need some advice on a gaslighter?

so i had been seeing this guy for a little over a year but we never dated (i know, pretty stupid). but i saw on instagram that he recently became exclusive with this girl and gave her a necklace with his name on it. this was so out of no where because i had hung out with him two weeks prior to this.

so i dmed her and asked her how long they had been seeing eachother and it turns out he was seeing both of us at the same time but he just decided he wanted to date her. i told her the truth that i had been seeing him too but not dating.

a little background is that he told me he didn’t want to date in January 2022. he found out i hooked up with someone else a couple of times but never brought it up. this whole year we continued to hang out and go on dates.

now this guy texts me saying how i shouldn’t have dmed her and she blocked him on everything. he is saying he did nothing wrong and is just saying i had no right to dm her. but if he really did nothing wrong then she wouldn’t have blocked him.

yes i hooked up with another person while seeing him but he committed to a whole relationship after two weeks of seeing me and a couple days after our last text…he could have been honest with me

was i wrong?
