Any advice for someone using dating apps for the first time?

After being in a relationship, my first one at that, I feel like I’m ready to put myself back out there. The thing is, though, I have no clue what I’m doing as far as setting up my profile. I’m not the most photogenic person in the world, and I have no idea what to put in my bio to make it even semi-interesting.

Like I said, my previous relationship was also my first, and I don’t really have a ton of experience date-wise, so this is all still pretty new to me. I’m also just generally a bit nervous about the whole thing, and maybe it’s just because I’ve heard too many horror stories, but I would love any safety advice if anyone has it.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

A few pics to include smiling, non smiling and a full body. No revealing pics, because you don’t just want comments about your appearance.
Keep the bio short. Don’t reveal much. They can ask questions then.

I think the most important thing is transparency.
Tell people exactly who you are and what it is that you're looking for.

A lot of apps now have additional questions or prompts you can fill out or answer that will help people get to know you a bit better or take the dread out of writing a perfect bio.

Well if you were a guy I'd advise you. But being a woman you don't need any. Just post pics and wait is all you have to do. Also if you don't have enough common sense to not put yourself in dangerous situations then nothing we tell you is going to do any good.

Don't waste time texting before meeting. If there's mutual interest, go meet them for coffee or whatever.
