Is not dating completely and bettering my life normal?

So I’m in this phase in my life where I’m tired of being a loser. In the past 3-4 weeks I’ve deleted all my dating apps and started going to the gym consistently again. My plan is to lose 20-25lbs then start dating again. I’m not completely unhappy with the way I look but I’m not fully happy with the way I look. I want to become the best version of myself.

So my question is, is it healthy to stop dating completely for the foreseeable future? I’m tempted to redownload my apps but I feel like it’ll end up being a distraction and I’ll drop my fitness goals if I end up dating someone. Should I just focus on myself for the mean time or should I try to balance out both?

Has anyone been in this position before? If so how did it work out for you?
