Today I was watching the news and a very good looking brain injury survivor who looks like the guy I liked from work was married. The single guy I liked was very kind and intelligent and sweet and at the time, it never occurred to me that other girls might like him too. I thought that he would be single and inexperienced because of his disability and his very high standards.
I have heard from multiple sources such as podcasts and articles that when a woman sees a man getting lots of attention from girls, it makes the woman more attracted to him because it shows that he is open, confident, social, and an alpha. Plus, women by nature compete against one another for attention from attractive men. So yeah.
This is simple science. Yes. If a good-looking man is getting no female attention, you assume something is wrong with him. If a not-so-good-looking man is getting a lot of attention, it signals that he has something major going for him.
