Most male of any given species on this planet don’t get chance to reproduce.
There is a social component to partner selection and then there is the base biology.
Regardless of what people ‘think’ how their society operates, given a choice, females will pick their partner based on the quality of genes he provides. And guys will pick out of options they have. These are two completely different criteria.
So yeah, if no one wants the guy then he is probably not going to fair better because of the gene pool he represents or provides. And there is nothing he can do about it.
But a girl could always down grade her expectations and find some, in most cases.
