What can I expect on this kind of date? Any tips?
This is my first time going on a first date to the movies, and I think it's the first time a girl I'm interested in has asked me out for a first date.
It was through a dating app, and she didn't really ask, but she said she was going to the movies alone and said I could join her I want to.
I'm just curious because you can't really talk during the movies. I'm wondering if you think she wants to get touchy. We'll be watching Scream.

I still talk during some of the quiet scenes lmao. If its Scream, she’ll likely jump and grab your arm a lot. Maybe you’ll share the popcorn. Maybe suggest you two go for a walk about an hour before the film just to squeeze in more convo time 🤷♀️ But movie dates are the easiest of them all. Nothing you really have to do and you might get a kiss after you guys leave the theater but dont expect one. Just go in with little expectations.
I agree, just go to be yourself and be confident. Women love a man who is romantic, respectful, confident, and a gentleman so you two have a good time together at the movies and like dizzy mentioned in her answer, don’t expect a kiss especially on a first date unless there’s a moment to be allowed for one between you two but just go with the flow for the night.
Also hold the door for her, Holding the door for her is definitely a nice gesture and a good start! Here are some other things you can do to be a gentleman on your first date:
1. Offer to buy her ticket or snacks: This shows that you're considerate and willing to take care of her.
2. Compliment her: Let her know that you think she looks nice or that you're enjoying spending time with her.
3. Listen actively: Show that you're interested in what she has to say by actively listening and asking questions.
4. Be respectful: Treat her with respect and kindness, and be mindful of her feelings and boundaries.
5. Offer to walk her to her car or to her next destination: This shows that you care about her safety and well-being.
Remember, the most important thing is to be genuine and respectful, and to focus on enjoying each other's company.
@JasonDaMan the only part i wouldn't agree with is paying for her. I always personally prefer to pay for myself. An offer is nice yes but i always decline. His girl may not lmao. And in a way that could speak volumes about whats to come
Going to the movies on a first date can be a fun and low-pressure way to get to know someone. However, as you mentioned, it can be difficult to talk during the movie, so it may be helpful to plan other activities before or after the movie where you can chat and get to know each other better.
As for what to expect, it's hard to say as every experience is unique. It's possible that she may be interested in getting touchy, but it's important to respect her boundaries and not assume anything without clear communication.
Some tips for a successful first date at the movies include arriving early to find good seats, bringing snacks or drinks to share, and planning other activities before or after the movie where you can talk and get to know each other better.
Remember, the most important thing is to be yourself and have fun. Good luck!
