If she's too high maintenance then maybe it's not worth it. Those types of girls are usually very narcissistic and all about themselves. Their totally not worth putting any effort into unless you have that kind of money to blow and really want a girl like that.

On the flip side if she's too low maintenance she may be highly reserved and doesn't take much pride in her looks. So she may not be worth the effort if she's too low maintenance too.

If you are trying to get to know the girl, then you have to put an effort into getting to know her. It's a given.

If the girl has no interest in you, then I can understand not putting the effort into trying to get to know her, because it is somewhat futile.

It is worth it ONLY when the girl is desperate for you. People with a lot of options have too much leverage and too little desire because there is no lack. They will treat you lesser just because of that and it is super subconscious. I'm not saying they are evil people. But we just don't treat unattractive people the same and that is a fact.
