Why are some people so proud to reject someone and boast about their high standards yet get upset when someone rejects them?

I feel like it’s narcissism… People think they’re just the best thing that ever existed. I’m not talking about men and I’m not talking about women there is people like this of both sexes.

They brag what high standards they have. Many aren’t looking for love they want money or sex. People who are decent people know this.

These type of men and women always go after the top tier of the other sex and get rejected and become very bitter. But they are so happy that they reject people left right and center…

Its not like they don’t have options… Well some don’t. But they’re never happy with anyone.

Wow you described exactly how I used to be. You are right, when we do get rejected we are bitter about it. Thankfully I have found God, he saved me.

Saved my personality and made me revaluate my life and what kind of person I want to be. I'm not like this anymore and I thank God that I'm not anymore. I've mature considerably too which I think a good chunk of why someone acts like that is because they are very immature.

I'm sorry you have come across a lot of people like this. I'm sorry to everyone who has been stepped on and had their heart ripped out by people like this. It's truly awful and disgusting. It's like they and me included (at the time) forgot how to be human and treat people as human beings with respect.

It's an ego boost but at the same time it is pathetic to act that way and treat people like that. Don't worry they'll reep what they sowed. I did ten fold and I got a ton of karma for being such a disgrace. I deserved it.

I will always regret the way I treated the guys that approached me. They thought I was a catch and realized later they dodge a bullet, because I was crazy.

Crazy for playing with their emotions and time as well as enjoying to break their heart. To add them to my list of men who have asked me out and who have liked me. I really hope and wish you find the woman/man that makes you happy. I hope you never come across a person like this again.

Not everyone has realistic ideals, let alone standards. They can delude themselves all they like, as long as it doesn't break any laws.

This should be among the lessons learned at school, but fewer kids these days get to build a social life or social skills. Hence why most teens and adults now are fucking retards when it comes to relationships. They take their cues from porn, sitcoms and fly by night dating articles, usually written by people as hopeless at dating as them!

Regardless, some people just don't handle rejection well. They will deflect onto others, but in most cases it's just their lack of social skills and nothing else.

there's simps and white knights there to cheer on and enable this bad behavior so those egoists neither change their ways

these egoists get upset at the concepts of alphas and betas yet they have the audacity to believe in "leagues" and that they are superior to some and others that are deemed beneath them and not worthy of their attention

I’m not going to lie but I’ve rejected people a time or two, maybe more. It’s not that I don’t like them, but it’s ruining a friendship or our energies wouldn’t really be well as a couple. I like this one guy and I hope he likes me back. It seems like he does but who knows. Fingers crossed it works out though!

Yep that's a mix narcissism and hypocrisy.
They love rejecting people cause it makes them feel like they're in a position of power. That kind of mindset can also lead someone to be unnecessarily rude while rejecting people.
But people who dish this out can't take it. Cause when they get rejected they see it as being the one of lower power or status, so it bugs them.

Is not the same to punch than be punched. Of course you're gonna hurt if you get punched. Why boasting about punching someone? Obviously because you want social recognition, or else you wouldn't boast about it, and probably that person sees that person's that boast about get treated better, so s/he wants to be treated that way too, so he offer the group of people an offering to be treated good, that s/he punched someone.

Eh people are selfish. It's human nature so I try to not let it bother me.

Hot take: Rejection is completely acceptable and usually a good decision made for good reasons. Rejecting someone because you're at a different stage of life can be one of those good reasons. Talking about how someone is below/behind you and that's why you rejected them puts you way below their level.
