I am 25-26 years old woman and I moved out of my mother's house 3 years ago. I'm living with my friends at the moment. My mother's partner keeps giving me unwanted (rude) advice. Like telling me what my "league" is with men and who I should and shouldn't be dating and ordering me about, telling me what to do. They've only been dating for a few years. I snapped the other day and said I will make my own decisions, and he said I'm "stubborn and that's not a compliment and need to work on it."
Does he really have the right to tell me what to do? He has two sons and my mother doesn't tell them what to do or boss them about? Why does he boss me about when I'm not a child?
