Was I too harsh after being cancelled on?

he didn’t apologise but said he can’t make out date bc he thought he’d have to drive his aunt to the airport in the morning but he actually needed to drive her in the evening ; same evening as our date and used a sad face emoji. He told me this 2 days prior to meeting even though he asked me out two weeks ago. The drive to the airport is about an hour. We didn’t t specify a time for our date - just confirmed it would be after 8pm and I have no idea when he needs to be in the airport for.

After he cancelled I said I am no longer interested because no reservations were made and i’m getting the impression this he’s unreliable. he stated that he did not make a reservation but he was definitely planning to follow through. Then He replied saying ‘we’re grown if I was worth it, you’d reschedule’. I told him I thought he was worth it when I agreed to the date but he’s coming across unreliable so I am no longer interested.

Well, I usually allow one first date to be cancelled if I am interested in the woman, but everyone has their own way of handling this/own level of patience.
