Texting this guy over two weeks went on one date but have been feeling confused if he was into me?

He’s always texting me even when I don’t text him.
But I’ve been feeling is it more as friends, he never talks about meeting up or showing any feelings towards me like he’s so hard to read.
Last night I told him how I felt about things he told me he was just clueless at dating and he wants to develop a friendship before anything with me as his head can process it better..

Is this good or bad?
As I do want to be more than friends and I don’t want to be wasting my time.
I just don’t want him to turn around after talking for ages and that to be like I’m not interested.

I don’t like phone calls tbh but I’m not sure about him and what he likes lol

Men can feel unsecure as well. They have a whole different set of hang ups and issues. It's likely he's been burned before. Take your time with him. Be patient. Communicate effectively. Put the work in. Even if a relationship doesn't come from it, you played the part of a good human being helping someone.

I’m not sure he seems very confident in himself while I wouldn’t be. Then aswell I asked him about past relationships and he’s told me he’s never been in a long term relationship and hasn’t been on a date in a year it just seems for me he has no experience with dating
