So a guy I’ve been talking to almost everyday for months, who lives abroad (we met online) is currently in my city for a trip. We originally planned loads of nice things to do, and he seemed excited. He suffers badly from anxiety and depression, and as soon as he got here said that he spiralled and is in his head, that he’d love to see me but doesn’t want to be a downer. I messaged him back saying he wouldn’t be at all, and that I can help him talk it out. But he hasn’t replied, it’s been days and he’s only here for another week. I know he needs space right now but I’d love to see him, and have booked a few fun things in the next few days, i understand he feels pressure but I just want to reassure him, I’m so worried about him.
This guy has come to my city to see me from abroad but is he too nervous to meet?

You won't and he won't see you he either has a real mental illness and won't get close to you or is just faking any lying about being there or is cstfishing your or gas lighting you!
Really if he won't attempt to see you then he does not care what ever his anxiety or stress!
Know this story from both sides and guy friends so no in his head bs either he sees you or your blocking him girl! Use your power!
Nothing will reassure him except letting him run off and keep gas lighting you!
I think of several things:
- he already became a downer by refusing
- he might be lying to you and he actually never come to your city and talks about depression just because he likes to receive compassion from other people (psycho basically)
- he is not the person you think you know (he might be looking totally different)
- why do you care? Do you need this kind of man, for whom you arrange averything, care about (even without ever meeting in real life) and he just says - oh no i have a depression so we can't meet. Do you really need him?
Find a different guy.
yes its very likely and unfortunately there is nothing you can do... he is obviously his own worst enemy leaving you hanging like this which is not ok...
