Is holding a cocktail with two hands instead of one weird?

I went on a date with a guy and we got drinks and I held my drink with both hands (I didn’t realize I was doing that) and he told me that looked really weird and to only use one hand. Then I became self conscious about it and when he asked me out on a second date I was using only one hand to drink my water and he started imitating me using both hands to drink from the last time and was laughing about it and saying he had never seen anything so weird before. Is it really that weird? I don’t think I ever have paid attention as to whether or not somebody used one or both hands while holding a beverage

Haha does it make me look like I’m a little kid if I hold a drink with both hands? Maybe I shouldn’t do it

Well that does look cute if its hot coco or a cup of tea. It seems more suited for hot beverages but when your out and about it kinda gives the impression that your closed in. Where as in the case of alcohol, the stereotype is that your letting loose and having that one hand free represents that your a little more free and open and not bottled in, shy and timid. Its just a perception

Ahh thanks that makes sense. I think I am really shy so that’s why I do it. Maybe I’ll just save it for when I drink something hot (I think it’s good to use two hands for that for safety reasons too in case hot beverage spills haha)
