Girl I like also likes me but seems terrified to talk to me?

I’ve recently been hanging out with a group of friends, and I’ve started to like this girl. We’ve been texting for a while now, and recently the news broke that we are both interested in each other. I see this group frequently.

So I asked her out and she said yes. The date is supposed to happen soon. However, now she is like super scared, nervous and shaky whenever I talk to her. Almost like she can’t think of anything to say. A mutual friend told me she’s very worried about ruining the date when we go. Which I don’t believe she could ever do.

I’ve heard multiple times now that she’s really interested, but the way she’s acting recently feels like she’s not. And like she’s almost avoiding me. Any tips or advice? How should I approach this situation?

I feel like I am that girl. I could be 100% interested but be so shy and scared to screw things up that I unintentionally actually disinterested. It’s not how I want to portray myself to a guy that I like but it just happens when I am uncertain of what’s to come!

I would try to connect with her friends to let her know that she couldn’t ever ruin your date with her if she’s so nervous she’s acting this way.
I’d love it if the guy I was wanting to date let me know through a 3rd party as validation. Now it would put me at ease but I’d still be super nervous!
