So after months I texted a guy who I was dating but we had a misunderstanding and stopped talking. We weren't on bad terms or anything. Anyway, I asked how he was doing, after three days (his usual response time even when we talked more frequently) he replied and told me a little about his work he's doing and school, mentioned he got busier, but then said "hope you're doing good" at the end of the text. Since its not a question, I assume he doesn't want me to say anything else? I don't know what to think, but don't want to be stupid and respond when I shouldn't. (p. s. I'm autistic. Social and text cues don't come easily to me, part of why I'm asking)

Omg. I f'ing hate it when people do that. "I hope you're doing well." SMH. Like, how am I supposed to respond to that? I usually just say "Thanks!" and then move on.
(But part of me thinks that it could just be that the other person doesn't have any conversational skills. I don't know.)

Well if that's how he always talked in text then you shouldn't think too much into it. If he never did talk like that then it may seem he's only responding to you cause it's there. And he might not have an interest in continuing talking

Just tell him how you’ve been doing. Start naming things you’ve done in the past few months. Get a conversation going.
no point in talking to him anyway
