For me it's 2012.
My father started taking me to some parties downtown and I loved them. The colors, the cool cars, the stylish suits, the beautiful women.
I remember specifically that his secretary always accompanied me when he couldn't and as a result I had a crush on her.
I wanted my life to be all like those nights, but eventually I realized it was all fake that kind of things nowadays feel forced and somewhat squalid.
I don't remember.

I was snorting lines of cocaine and fucking Colombian hookers... I just paid some young hooker to suck my wiener... she had braces... I paid her 10,000 extra yen as a tip, plus the 10,000 I paid her. She kept asking if I was sure I didn't just want to fuck... and I was like "Girl, you got braces, suck that dick and do it rough!!" ... I could barely feel my dick, so I was trying to feel it.
Then I got on a train... Roppongi or some shit, I had to take a bunch of fucking trains is all I know from Henedecho near Yokohama. I get led to a club... I guess it's a fucking sports club during the day and then turns into a club. I'm not going to name names, but then I started drinking with these dudes from a TV show called Jackass. Party boy parties. If you know, then you know what time period I'm in right now.
I leave there and go to another hooker party place because I'm stuck in this Roppongi place now. Some Japanese chick with tiny perky tiddies was sweating and just started going King Kong on my penis. She was sweating big time... I was like, "This is kinda gross, but hawt at the same time." Of course I didn't nutt. I ended up outside on a bench... I passed out and randomly puked through the grates of the bench here and there. Daylight started to hit and these two Japanese cops kicked me awake. "Daijoubu?" type shit and I shook it off and somehow ended up back home.
1999 and 2005.
1999 because I was all excited about Star Wars: The Phantom Menace coming out, and also because of all the hype about the year 2000 coming. I liked the way the whole world was anticipating it, we were all looking ahead in wonder of what the 2000s would bring... only to see how crazy and shaken up they were with 9/11 and Bush's wars in the middle east. I also liked that winter in '99 too, something about that was special for me as a kid, and I still don't know why.
2005 because it felt like an interesting turning point in my youth, and it was such an awesome summer that year. Days that seemed particularly special then.
Not any year in particular, though I am very sentimental, maybe too much (it makes life hard).
But I have noticed that things from the early 1990s look 'normal' to me, because those were my formative years. I wasn't a kid anymore, I left home and finally had freedom to do as I pleased, and though I try to be objective and look at that time and era without subjectivity, I figure it must feel normal to me because of when I experienced it.
I liked the clean lines in business casualwear. Lots of browns (and black never went away). Then contrasting that was grunge, with Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and the Seattle sound. I liked the loose fit styles contrasting some fitted pieces. There was still femininity, but it wasn't as pathetic as in the 1980s when women in the workplace used huge shoulder-pads to make their suits look more like men's, for example. Not sure if I would want to go back to that (I tend not to want to travel back in time), but I think it was a pretty solid time, without major chaos or discord, and nothing too ridiculous. It was a decent time to grow up into one's twenties, I thought.
2011 or 2012 around near my early 20s.
I felt free and I didn't have that many responsibilities.
I had anxiety even then, but it was not as overwhelming as now.
I was more spontaneous, I regularly went to the beach with friends at nighttime setting up a campfire eating marshmallows, singing, even borrowing tiny boats from a nearby private beach and sailing them then returning them.
Once we nearly got caught and the guard chased us when he spotted us returning the boat.
Those were amazing times.

u 1971. That was my last year in high school and the year I started college. The world was very different back then!
1999 was a pretty good year. I was fresh out of college, sold everything I owned including my car, took an extended international trip, and lived it up. It was a great experience.
2019 was the happiest year of my life…
I love what I'm living rn. But I always remember with so much love 2013, I was 12, obsessed with mh, I went out with girlfriends, my only worry was passing math at school, I loved going back home after school to watch Bethany Mota and similar youtubers, playing with online friends, watching creepypastas, doing dyi's, baking. We had fun colorful clothes, barely used make up, listened to fun music of the time. Everything was so fun, pretty and innocent.
Not just a year, a couple eras.
Except for some of the music in the later years, and some of the bad stuff that happened in the early years, I'd love to go back to the `80's again but, even more than that, I'd love to go back to the `60's!!
1986. The pinnacle of new wave/janglepop/ college rock.
There were still liberal and moderate republicans and conservative and moderate democrats. GOP and democrats got along even if they passionately disagreed.
Religious right was staying out of politics.
No wars
2000. It was before the attack on the World Trade Center. We did not have all the security that we have today and the world just seemed safer.
1989/1990. The fall of The Wall and German Re-Unification.
2020. I miss how united all of society was. We all agreed it was dogshit and that bonded us together 🤗 plus just looking at a covid mask or helicopter or that fist logo for BLM takes me back to it
2005. I was still a girl, not a teen and the world was more innocent. Life got progressively more complicated after breasts and periods started getting involved.
2014, my year in the restaurant plus starting college therefore making most of my contacts
2008 to 2013. I really hated those years at the time but looking back, life was great back then.
2018-2021
It was the peak of my life. I had a lot of friends. Played. Went out. Met with people who enjoyed my company. Was surrounded by like-minded people. Was revered by my juniors. Was popular. Life was near perfect back then.
The 90s, everything was better in my parent's time.
I miss the 93-95 period. 90's really. They still have some of the best movies.
Probably 1985, lots of good movies and music, was already out of high school for a year, did some traveling on my own, had a car for awhile
2017
That was a good year, I was self assured, Had good sleep and good health and good family Vibe
1998. Probably the best year of my childhood.
(But 1996-2002 was a really good era!)
2016 because I was in college and felt the happiest I've ever felt in my life.
Easily 2016-2017 time. I didn’t work and sure school was hard back then but a lot of good memories
