Why does digital information contradict face to face information when it comes to dating?

Every girl I have a personal friendship with or association with beyond school and work says guys like you more when you ignore them and play hard to get. But every YouTube video online and book online says playing hard to get is not a good idea. Makes me wonder if the government is censuring this information to increase fertility rates in the country so that we will be less dependent on immigrants for population growth. Cause immigrants require infrastructure to support so they can learn languages native to the population or so they can create communities where non English dialects can function in a comprehensive and functional way in workplace scenarios.
