well if high heels belong to your uniform, yes you do. nobody forces you to do that job. so i don't get what the fuzz is about. if you don't wanna wear high heels all day, don't do a job where that is required from you.
That is ridiculous. There are plenty of professional-looking women's shoes that don't have high heels. Such requirements are absurd and actually impede the ability to do the job. Can you imagine a workplace where they required all short men to wear heels?
So you think regulations that cause health problems and confer no benefit whatsoever are acceptable for employers to implement? I agree that I wouldn't take such a job - just like I won't take one that requires a tie. Fortunately, until Covid anyway, the labor market was tight enough that stupid regulations like that were being done away with.
@zagor yes they are, cause everyone is completely free in this free country to NOT DO THIS JOB.
if i offer you 50 bucks to eat shit, you can always say: "fuck you, i'm not gonna eat shit". i don't see the problem with me offering you 50 bucks to eat shit.
Im sorry to go though that and i would be the type of guy that would massage ur feet after work and make sure u had a bubble bath when u come home from work and im glad u did stand up because that was wrong of him trying to do that
i really dont understand why women wear high heels at all, they look so damn uncomfortable.. My wife.. She wears the most uncomfortable things because she thinks they look cute.. im sorry i go for utility and functionality over looks any day..
Thankfully I chose a healthcare career so I wear scrubs and sneakers. It sucks to have to wear heels. Isn't it possible to wear cute flat shoes instead?

Every job I have worked at has had no mandatory requirement to wear heels of any kind.
the knee length skirts and maybe a white blouse certainly but the high heels should be optional

He knew it would make more money and thought he could get away with it. He was wrong 🤷♂️. Respect your little insurrection, if he wanted to incentivize y'all to dress more appealingly to increase sales he should have come up with a better plan.

But that's just it...we never did sales. I mean, have you gone into a Target, and other than a Target card, has a cashier ever needed to sell you anything? No. We were the same. "I get it," if we had been salespeople just like I get how an attractive waiter can literally get tons more tips than someone who is not or doesn't dress that certain way, but we were jusssst cashiers, and not only that, teen cashiers, so it's really gross to think that someone is like, sex sells because if that's what he was thinking---I'm glad I took immediate action.
Lol that’s what you get for having an office job, college kid.

TL, DR
Guys have a dress code and are REQUIRED to live up to it. Our dress codes are way more strict than any female dress code. Women have a WIDE array of options which we do not.
@ThisDudeHere girl dress codes are way more relaxed than male dress codes. no dress code enforces heels, but men are forced to wear slacks and ties with button up shirts in retarded heat while women can practically wear anything as long as they cover nipples and clits.
You kind of ruined your credibility with the last panel in the first pic. Who would even wear that. Actually, most of those options wouldn't even be sought after by men to begin with.
@ThisDudeHere The last pic was an example to show exactly like you said... males DON’T dress to expose their shit and no one would let them if they did. Women wear almost nothing or cloth bodypaint and expose their shit and it’s accepted.
"and no one would let them if they did." -Kind of a null statement, because they wouldn't anyway so there'd be no need to bar them from it. At least, any men worth their salt would not wear them.
"Women wear almost nothing or cloth bodypaint and expose their shit and it’s accepted." -As a heterosexual (I presume) male - why would you even complain?
@ThisDudeHere It isn’t a null statement. Murder is still illegal, even if most people wouldn’t kill if they were allowed. Rules apply because of those who do, not those who don’t. A male who DOES dress like that would be charged with indecency or shamed and attacked. Women on the other hand have mo such rules.
Just because I am biologically programmed to be interested in it, doesn’t mean they should be allowed to flaunt and tease and the. generally shame and attack men for taking interest. Like waving meat in a shark tank and then attacking the shark for taking notice of it.
I get your point but murder is a whole other level for them to be comparable.
Also, shaming men for taking interest isn't the full story - they wear that kind of stuff because that's the primary way you get men interested. And the shaming is geared towards creeps who stare, not normal guys who just check out with a glance and are socially savvy enough to not come off as creepy.
But okay, I do get your point - I agree that it's hypocritical that men and women are treated differently in this regard, it's just that, personally, I don't think that this is one of those issues worth fussing over unlike, say, child custody.
When was this? It sounds like something straight out of the last century.

Literally it was. This was in '99 but this happens even today. There is nothing that is going to ever truly stop the "-isms" of the world from happening because there will always be that person or people that thin what they are doing is okay.
You basically we're talking about a dress code "injustice" 😆 you made me chuckle this morning. "we've heard a lot more about the injustices done to women and some men in work environments due to sexism and harassment." I'm not surprised you have 😆
@lumos The facts of the matter is every business has a dress code. I don't get to wear whatever I want at work and neither do the women. Your hypothetical example is irrelevant considering we have a case study in which it was made clear that the women had to wear heels. It wouldn't make sense to ask men to wear high heels lol they are female attire for crying out loud.
I've worn uniforms/had an on paper dress code for my entire school and work life save for a few jobs. I've done retail, I've done teaching, I've done corporate, you name it, and never in all those jobs have heels ever been a required part of a uniform or dress attire. May have been encouraged especially in the corporate world, but never a requirement to work. I was not hired at this job with heels or skirts being a part of this uniform otherwise I would not have chosen to work there, but if a uniform is going to change, it should not be for the sexist whims of one man and should not impede on ones ability to actually do your job.
For example, if I told you today that you would now be required to wear heels at your job, how well would you be able to do your job honestly. After all, as you said, it's work and every business has a dress code so you SHOULD be able to do everything a-ok because it's your job right? Please do not feed me that line especially having never had to wear heels (I assume) in your life. It is impractical and unhealthy to wear them for 8-10 hours in a fixed position if you are not allowed to sit or take a break. It is also sexist to say that we alone looked unprofessional yet every single person, male and female and including the boss working there had the same exact uniform on and they were not being asked to change their uniforms at all despite some of them working on the floor as well---explain that one to me. Really explain it. He didn't say our hair, or our make-up, he said specifically the uniforms---a uniform you can only see from the waist up considering we worked in a booth where no one could see any part of the uniform that he wanted to change.
"It wouldn't make sense to ask men to wear high heels lol they are female attire for crying out loud."
"Female attire" or not, the point is that women are no more well-equipped to handle heels than men. Fact of the matter is that they are a health hazard. Not only is it easier for you to lose your balance when walking in heels (i. e. you could fall over, drop things, injure yourself), but it's also a lot easier to sprain your ankles in them. They also damage your feet when used long-term. The shoes literally force your feet to be in an unnatural position, and instead of your weight being equally distributed on your entire foot, it's focused on your toes/the very front of your foot. It's incredibly uncomfortable to just stand in heels for more than 30 minutes. You could even injure your back and your leg if you take one wrong step in heels.
So yes, having to wear something that's a health hazard and is completely unnecessary for you in terms of doing your job correctly, is an injustice. Maybe you should try wearing some heels for a week and see if you'd like it to be a part of your dress code.
Also considering that you're squirming and not answering my question with a simple yes or no, I'll go ahead and assume that you'd be just as pissed if you had to wear high heels yourself.
I can't think of a job where heels would be advantageous over flats, except stripper. Rules like the one she is talking about can cause actual physical harm, with no corresponding positive counterbalance at all, just the whim of some asshole manager.
No, I'm rather glad I stood up for myself and the other women there, because the policy was reversed and I would have never taken the job had heels been a part of the uniform when I started because of the fact that we had to stand for up to 10 hours all day long. Had the outcome not been a reversal of this, I would have for sure quit.

Having to wear heels while standing all day sounds unbearable! I'm glad the job didn't go through with forcing people to do that.
Yeah. I heard Boston Pizza used to force all their female workers to walk around in 5 inch heels.
What a nightmare.
Sorry, but I bet you never complained especially on pay day, no really I know what you mean.

@ThisDudeHere They can’t have their cake and eat it too.
If you dress like a cheap attention whore, you can’t then pick and choose who it comes from.
Well, if you're a woman, you actually can. They're the gatekeepers of sex so...
When was this? It sounds like something straight out of the last century.

😅😅😅😅 injustice lol that cracked me up something rotten lol

After reading such articles you have to wonder if many women are ready for work-life 😆
So if you were told to wear high heels at work whereas none of your other co-workers had to, you'd do it with a big smile on your face?
@lumos all female coworkers had too.
That's not what I asked. If you specifically had to wear high heels, you'd just do it without a problem?
@lumos The facts of the matter is every business has a dress code. I don't get to wear whatever I want at work and neither do the women. I only wear heels during formal presentations. It's so painful when you wear it everytime, it's like walking with rollerblades.
Honestly I've never had to wear heels for work. I wear heels for fun 😂
it is a good thing that you have complained about this , otherwise you will be wearing heals until you leave your job
Good for you, no woman should wear them ever, they are not healthy, they are unstable and uncomfortable.
Very true. Jobs can be done without high heels being worn.
Yet, there are girls out there, who do need to wear heels to do their job
Then don't work at a place that requires it
