they are more based on physical strength, not brains or because traditionally men did it. I have yet to see o woman changing tyres on a piece of heavy equipment, but there could be some. Many men can't do that either.
there's not "jobs for guys and jobs for girls" jobs aren't inherently for anyone, cause it's not about the person but about the job being done. but there's jobs mostly preferred by guys and jobs mostly preferred by girls.
There are definitely still male or female dominated industries 🤷♀️. When you try and break into male dominated industry it’s a real eye opener as to how their culture is.
do you have any examples? my girlfriend and I work identical jobs in what would traditionally be considered male dominated, there are times where being female has been a distinct advantage and then times where it has created a significant disadvantage. advantages are that she stands out amongst the other (usually male applicants) and often the more interesting prospects open up to her then other times, (usually when the shit hits the fan) I've seen people guys saying pretty derogatory things. The positive side of this, i feel, is that once these guys identify themselves like that its easy to avoid them.
There are a lot of the same cultural issues within organisations felt by guys too, like we are supposed to side with the alpha, any kind of bullying is "banter" etc
Although they not technically gender based, jobs like Nursery Assistants, Teaching Assistants, Secretaries, Receptionists are more geared towards women.
Whilst jobs in heavy industry are more geared towards men.
I work in the auto industry, years ago it was predominately male, now I see shop owners that are female, female auto technicians and female service writers. Its pretty awesome to see.
If you’re a woman, be careful accepting a job where you have a female boss. I’ve learned the hard way that women, esp leaders, don’t give a shit about helping drive women to success. It’s all poorly integrated corporate propaganda.
What a horrible concept. My mother worked construction, real, hard, actual construction. You can't tell me a woman "can't" succeed in anything. Same goes for men too. Men can be great teachers and nurses and cooks. Nothing wrong with that.
There are indeed jobs either gender either would be poorly suited or simply could not do for reasons particular to the mental and biological realities of their body.
I wouldn’t say a person can’t do a job based on gender alone. Having said that, there will always some jobs that are male dominated and female dominated.
if there was an equalization of labor, then why do women need to do all the work birthing and raising kids? do you need to give up your career to raise kids? do you need to go through 9 months of uncomfortable pregnancy? do you need to go through the painful torture of labor?
do you need to give up your own life just to reproduce? believe it or not, for millions of years, it was not uncommon for a lot of women to die during childbirth. Its only been the past 50 years where it was less common to die in labor

There aren't per se, but there are jobs that are better suited for your average male or female.
Surrogate mother is one for only the ladies that comes to mind.
I wouldn't consider it job, but yes, you are right.
I was told by my childhood day care owner that she wouldn't hire me because people would stop bringing their kids if they say a man working there
@tony_baloney I don't know maybe having a strong male role model in a day care could help the children have it feel more realistic.

I’ve met people who think guys or girls would be better at certain Jobs then the other gender but both genders could still do that job

“Do you still think” No I don’t think anymore. Thanks.
carpentry being out of the sun those into construction
Not from my point of view.
Parents can literally ruin their children's lives.
Thank you 🙂 Yes it's sad
There's certainly jobs where it would help to be one or the other
Yes, but you should have the opportunity to try
Not really although I'm not going to become an exotic dancer.
Yes but your choice

Yes. The overwhelming majority of the most dangerous jobs in the World are held by men.

Take a look at the DOL division of labor graphs and you will see "male/female" jobs. Not too many women are interested in being brick layers.
Not many men interested in being kindergarten teachers or cashiers either.
@shaysh87 Exactly my point, thank you. Let me ask you:. Do we "need more" male kindergarten teachers and "need more" female brick layers?
females can't lay bricks. its not because they don't want to do the job. its because they either can't do the job or aren't competent at the job.
quite often, men don't make good kindergarten teachers or cashiers. Females tend to be better at those jobs.
I don't think it's a need. But if a someone wants it? It should be possible
@laraWM. Isn't "equality" based on equal division of labor?
Equal rights and opportunities

to an extent but that’s not an example of it, if a girl wants to pursue a career in science then she should 🤷♂️
