I'm an in home nurse. There is a nurse that works before me during the week. Long story short she is a slacker and incompetent. She doesn't assist in calling in medical supplies and equipment for patient, the clients medications nor doctors appointments. She half looks for things and things are always in disarray when I arrive. Supervisor is aware because she calls the doctor for common sense stuff. I've gotten to the point where I've cut down a day with this clients home because there is no team work and the other nurse is ruining the case. She does have a lower education so that may play a role along with her being lazy.
I would report her and if no changes are made then leave the case
I'd just drop the case because all the responsibility is falling on you

So I left a note for the lazy nurse informing her that when supplies come help out. Don't throw entire responsibility on one nurse help out. Work as a team so that things run smoother and that I did express these concerns with supervisor. Her response is that I'm being hostile 🤣. Victim mentality. Hostile because I'm asking you to do your part?

if her tasks are completed to company standard and the family has no complaints then there's not a lot you can do. if she's violating any protocols then it has to be reported immediately.

The company needs a warm body right now. My cate manager said that this particular nurse just skates through and doesn't use common sense nor nursing knowledge. Her and the care manager had a run in before
@Andres77 we have a clinical educator who does the evaluation. My clinical manager personally has said she doesn't want this particular nurse on her cases but schedulers said they need help
I worked with a woman who did nothing but sleep. I reported her over and over, but they just needed someone who would come to work, so they never cared. So I told the boss to make her the shift lead, instead of me. I said if that doesn't happen, I'll quit. So the lazy turd got to be the lead, and it was my turn to sleep. lol
I lost one dollar per hour, and didn't have to do anything at all. lol You have to fight fire with fire. If they want lazy, I'll be the best of the best at it.
I would have a talk with your supervisor personally. That's were I would start if there was no danger being posed to the patient. If that's the case, file a report and definitely talk to your supervisor.
Thanks fellow nurse, I've done that as far as reporting her. The supervisor said she had spoke with her numerous times because it just seems like she skates through the case and lacks common nursing knowledge. She said if it were up to her she would not put her on any of her clinics but schedulers are struggling to cover the shift.
Yep. Heard that one before lol. We've had a few travelers come through my unit and do nothing more that take up space and fill out scrubs... and there's not much to do when we have no one else to fill the gaps.
Report her and report it to the higher class of your company, the big boys, considering it effects their company, they will surely do something about it
That's good, I'm sure there's many other companies that will appreciate your hard work, and that explains why they are doing so bad, they sacrifice a good worker for a crappy one
I did but I don't see any improvement in this nurse at all. I dont know if it's her lack of education because I am higher up in education than she is or both. But I cut back on my days not doing this crap
