My dad hasn't had a job in probably more than 10 years. Before I never really cared about it, since it seemed like we had enough money (which must have been his saving I guess?). But recently its really frustrating to see him have no intention of working but still complain about prices and cutting costs. Like of course the money he had wasn't going to last forever. I've been telling him to apply for jobs since a few months ago, and even though all he does it sit at home doing practically nothing for majority of the day, he makes up any excuse not to work on getting a job. It's always the same stuff, "I'll do it tomorrow", "I'm not feeling well", "I'm too tired right now". What will make him realize that we can't survive like this forever?
ps, I would get a job but I'm unable to due to school.

I have an uncle like that but he claimed multiple disabilities and ended up making over 30,000 a year by staying home. It is all fraudulent. These kinds of people simply see the world in a different way.
Basically, they are of a parasitic nature. It is no different than fungi growing on pine tree and living off its energy. try not to get caught up in his drama and move forward with your own future.
That's unfortunate. I wish people would understand that there are responsibilities when you have kids. If you're not willing to step up then don't have a kid
Unfortunately he's not going to change. The best thing is to go on and live your own life do whatever is best to get yourself on your own.
