Are recruiting agencies worth finding a job?

My experience with a recruiting agency was pretty terrible, but at least I was able to quickly get a job. Kind of my fault, since I never did any kind of research on whether that agency was legit; I was introduced to it at a job fair from my local employment agency (partially funded by the government). Some peope online shit on recruiting agencies, while others praise them for helping them find work.

I've been applying to all kinds of jobs that are suitable for me in the past few weeks on LinkedIn, and not once was I ever contacted for an interview; I also used Wirkn and same thing. Currently taking summer classes and I'll be graduating by the fall, and since my parents are retiring soon, I have to find a full-time job so I can support myself and move out. I am also working on startups on the side, but those'll take time to become profitable, so I still need to work.

Never had one call on LinkedIn 😂. But yes, other job boards did help land a few interviews (not many though). And recruiting agencies do help get a decent enough job. I won't say extraordinary ones, but it's better than being jobless.

so what job sites have a high chance of getting a job? i've used Indeed before and have had some success with it

I have landed interviews through Cocubes, Great Learning and Scalar. I've heard people praise Great Learning and Amdocs and Amcat. I haven't had much luck on Indeed.

I worked with many of these places. All were a waste of time. The agencies just wanted to put a warm body in the position and did not care if the job was a good fit for me.

I think they are all the same. It is possible that you will find a job with one of them but for the most part they want to put a warm body in the seat and get paid. They don't care if you are qualified for the job or that itvis a two hour drive from your house b

I had better luck with Zip Recruiter. They had a lot of jobs and you would get feedback as to whether or not a potential employer looked at your resume. They would actually tell you if it was looked at multiple times. I got a few interviws from there and I got a job offer from one of them. My daughtervis a recruiter and she told me to put a profile on Linkedin. I got somecinterviws from there too but also a bunch of jobs i was not intersted in..

Honestly with the internet being a thing you can pretty much do it yourself, I'd only really bother with them if your having a really hard time finding a job or even getting interviews.

Because at the very least they can secure you an interview easier then you probably can if you were just applying to stuff online.

If you need good job websites I like Indeed. com that's how I got the job I've been at for the last 4 years.

I am having a hard time even getting interviews, but then again, I haven't applied for jobs on Indeed yet (have in the past and got some success)

From my experience try and pigeon hole people.

I've had success only when they approached me , because then they need to justify themselves , but when I've applied to them utterly useless. I reckon thats the key , then I suppose depends on the field , I was property so there were many differing options.

Occasionally if you have specialized skills and they can find a good opening somewhere, but generally not

If you need quick money I think they are a good safety net but the jobs are usually very physical in my experience
