Why do people feel the need to get upset about someone's grammar and punctuation?

Do people not realise that some schools do not provide proper education. Do people not realise that some people may have a learning disability. I was never taught proper grammar or punctuation at school by any teacher at all. Most of my school education was dealing with being bullied at school and at home. I was even going to some learning education program where we mostly did craft and played outside. At school it was at times watching movies we had to do an assignment on. The rare times we did actual education, it was clear as day that I didn't understand crap and yet not one teacher or anyone bothered to help me. Eventually I dropped put at school at 14 so I never received the proper education I needed.

Sucks when people give someone who doesn't know proper grammar or punctuation.

Because of things like: A woman without her man is nothing.

It is sometimes incredibly important. Almosy no matter where you put a comma in the sentence I gave you it will change the meaning. From saying that women are nothing without men, to men being nothing without women, to her man being useless, to the human race not existing without women.

Punctuation is key to convey what you mean and misunderstandings are the cause of most problems. So caring about it, even a great deal, is fine.

The reason out of the way of course it isn't super important as long as you are always willing to explain yourself. People should be more understanding. But that's the reason anyway.

If you just wrote: "woman without her man is nothing" and I do not know how you enuanciate or emphasize it I will not know if you are telling me women and men complement each other in a great way or that we have abusive relationships. So it isn't unimportant.

I made money as a copywriter, so I am a stickler for correct language. I understand that foreigners might have problems to learn a new language, but native speakers don’t have that excuse. Buy and read a damn newspaper, that helps not only with the language. And I have zero tolerance for silly ghetto babble.

Everyone should have a basic grasp of their language's grammar, but we all slip up from time to time. The problem is it's hard to respect people who haven't mastered their own language, it's one of the hallmarks by which we judge a person's intelligence.

When dealing with people at a professional level a grammar or punctuation error will show you're not intelligent or fastidious enough to be part of that world, and that you don't care enough to do it correctly.

Unfortunately the government got involved in the public school system and these special interest groups who donate to these schools don't teach traditional topics but instead indoctrinate vs educate by teaching things like critical race theory, gender queen, along with other controversial topics which confuse kids sad to say
