I’m a 22 year old guy who got his Bachelors degree in January 2023 in Data Science/Tech management. I have 4 months of experience at an insurance firm and 5 months of experience at government. It’s been 5 months of constant applying with only 4 interviews so far and I can't PASS A SINGLE ONE or something has to go wrong when it seems like it’s going right. In general, I’m a very charismatic guy in public, I love to socialize and be around people. I’m also very good at making connections. During my first month of applying to jobs 5 months ago, I was trying my best to apply internally with my manager as a reference, yet nobody responded to my 60 internal applications in government. Even my most recent interview 2 weeks ago, they loved me and wanted to bring me in for a second interview, which was last week. Since then , I was expecting a follow up call. The Vice President called me and asked if the hiring manager sent me details regarding next steps and when I told her that he didn’t send me anything, she was confused and believes the position may be filled up already. But they like me that much that they want to get me into another office location as the VP wants to try hard to help me out. My resume is as good as can be, I’m getting interviews, it’s just things keep fucking up in between and I can’t stand it. I regret doing my degree sometimes when I could have just went into trades at 18 and started making money by now. Even the jobs that others have referred me to, are getting rejected. Are you kidding me?
It discourages me because people who graduated with me from my program who don’t have experience are getting the jobs I dream of getting. It’s not fair at all and I’m slowly reaching my breaking point.
If anyone can help me understand this better, that would be great.

Damn bro, that sucks you've been struggling so hard to find work. 4 months is a long time to be applying non-stop with no luck, I'd be discouraged as hell too!
A few thoughts - have you had people review your resume and cover letters? Sometimes a fresh set of eyes catches little things holding you back.
For interviews, maybe practice common questions more so you feel totally smooth and confident in there. Also ask at the end what areas you could improve on - feedback is key.
Could trying expanding your search too, even if it means something outside your main field. Getting that experience any way you can helps a ton.
Don't forget to network your ass off too! Hit up alumni groups, follow up with your referrals, see if any intern connections have openings. So much gets filled internally.
Also make sure to take care of your mental health man. Applying non-stop is draining, take breaks when you start feeling down on yourself.
It'll happen for you bro, just keep grinding. Your degree ain't worthless yet, don't count yourself out! Bet something comes through soon, you just gotta stay positive somehow, easier said than done I know. Keep your head up homie!
You need some certifications to make you more attractive. In the tech word experience is king more than degree. Certifications are the foot in the door to help with lack of experience
What is happening at the interviews? Are you being asked to demonstrate technical knowledge? Are you able? Is there someone who could help you practice interviewing?
